awe wowieeee what a fun party we had for Cecilia!
Our house is currently under construction! Like big time! So a cozy backyard party was not in our stars… we asked her what her dream party would be and she pretty much had this for her vision…
She wanted a beach party right by the water with all of her favorite friends! Sandcastle making contest was high on the list and tropical flowers and pineapples and flamingos! So fun!
The weather was a dream come true… the kids even had a little swim… on DECEMBER 23!!!
We played, celebrated, sang, ate so much food, even watched the sunset… and then lit a lantern for her… this party was magical!

I had so much fun with all the little details… that is where my heart comes out with parties… I just love special thoughtful little hints! … it was a little bit tricky this year with half of our house missing… but with the help of Mattias & my parents it was a success! My mom made so many fun decorations! We had a lot of fun putting this all together! The end result… one happy little girl! Happy 9th Birthday!!!

This year Cecilia’s birthday was extra special! Her Grandma & Grandpa (Farmor & Farfar) came all the way from Sweden to help her celebrate! It was so nice! Cecilia felt so special to have them here!



We always wake each other on birthdays with singing and cards and presents and breakfast in bed! 

Well, I’d say… Cecilia had a pretty fantastic 8th Birthday!!! …and she should! she’s a pretty fantastic little girl that we love more than words! Such a gentle loving little soul!

Oh what fun our little one’s birthday was!!! 8 is so great! 😉
It was our first nighttime birthday party and it was really fun! Campout!
We did a scavenger hunt, roasted marshmallows, hot cocoa, grilled hot dogs, watched a movie under the stars, oh my gosh it just was such a blast! I think my favorite part was how laid back this party was! Just hanging out around the fire… remembering to give my baby a hug and ask if she was having a fun party here and there! Taking it in…

I love Valentine’s Day at school! those little itty bitty cards and the anticipation of handing them out! I think my favorite part was in the evening while filling them out the girls writing “your friend” to the boys and “love” to the girls… you don’t want them to get the wrong idea right! hahahaha so cute!
and oh those conversation candy hearts… aren’t the purple ones the best!
I was so glad to help out in my 4th grader’s class… as she gets older I knew this time is fleeting and soon she won’t have these sorts of parties… so instead of crying about it, enjoy it!

this was a time that yup you just have to sit back and let it sink in for a minute… the right of passage of losing that top front tooth… that changes that baby face into little girl face… things change and so do you… but instead of being sappy these days I’m choosing to just be happy! why not!

I still have dreams about Cecilia’s Paris themed birthday party! I also dream of those Heavenly Macaroons! Seriously! So FLUFFY! This party was so pretty and Cecilia had a ball! I just loved her poofy fancy dress and so did she! She has a thing for Paris so we thought, why not… let’s do it! Let’s get girlie, let’s get Frenchy! It was so cute!

This little cupcake turned SEVEN!!! Lucky Seven! I know I know time flies and I can’t believe it, how did she ever become seven when I clearly just remember her growing inside of my belly… but she actually did turn SEVEN back in December! It was a beautiful morning and we spoiled her ridiculously and I am so glad we did because she deserves it! She’s a super sweet loving kind gentle dear of a baby child and my heart bursts with love for her! Happy Birthday Cecilia!

big sister Isabelle loves to help out… she’s such a sweet girl… sweet sister. I love just letting her… letting go… letting her do her own thing. It makes her feel so important and big! and I think she does a pretty great job right!

There was so much magic! So much happiness this December in our garden… a bunch of little kindergarteners… running, playing, painting, imagining… it’s what she wanted! She loves rainbows and loves art and being creative! So this party was just perfectly for her! I had so much fun putting so many fun details together for this one! The girls helped out a bunch too! That’s my favorite part… working together to create a day we’ll always have…

Our little Cecilia Noelle turned 5 in December!!!!! How can that be!?? It does seem right… but really I like to just hold on to each day as they each slip through our fingers… it’s hard to grasp it all…

but 5… I watched her sleeping her last night being 4… smiling… snoring… dreaming… She makes us so happy with her silliness and happy spirit! I love how she looks at me smiles and says, “Mamma, I love you, you make me so happy…”  m-e-l-t… she’s amazing and fills us to the rim! Happy Birthday Bunny!


Breakfast in bed… I love this tradition… so do our girls…

 so we had a Pixie Party!!! I loooove love love doing these sweet special parties for our girls! It makes me so happy! I love collecting things over 8 years… little scraps of fabric, paper, glitter, pompoms… I love putting it all together in my head the weeks before… sitting at night sprinkling glittler over old pieces of cedar… painting little hearts on papers… finding ideas on Pinterest to inspire me… Our backyard is very eclectic one may say… so tying little ribbons to orange tree leaves and sprinkling little fairy stones every which way just seems so right… I love the character our whimsical backyard has… I put my whole heart into this garden… into these parties… it’s one of my favorite things… now our girls are old enough and love to help set up as well… filling little bottles with tiny butterfly flowers… setting little details that make you smile because now I see that they put their whole hearts into these types of special days too… 

Isabelle’s party when she turned 5 was a fairy pixie party as well… so I saved a lot of things… knowing … that every little girl needs to have a Pixie Party! so again… years later… here we are again…
I loved filling these tiny glass bottles with glitter! the kids took home these pixie dust necklaces! I got the tiny jars here on etsy… 
the above little fairies were just made from little clothespins you can find at Michaels… the wool for their hair and clothes was from a big bag from Germany that I have used and saved and felted with for 8 years now! I’m sure you can find it on Etsy though! the mushrooms are paper mache!

the fairy above I got from one of my favorite online shops… Nova Natural Toys! such beautiful things!  
the sweet fairy below that is missing her wing… still likes to ride on her horse… we got that years ago from the girl’s preschool teacher, Mr. Todd!

and no fairy party would be complete without some pixie dust… there was glitter everywhere…  

I had little set ups around our garden for children to make Fairy Houses with… little teepee style houses… I sewed the little flags below from some scraps of fabric… so simple! 

and my mother over here... made this amazing Fairy Mushroom House!!! isn’t that the sweetest thing ever!!!  

the classic famous Nutella cake that my husband makes and that the girls are totally addicted to!!! soooo delicious! with a banana vanilla bean custard filling! ammmaaaazing!!!!

we got a little pet! … meet Lana!!! She’s quite cute don’tcha think! so with getting a pet the girls a week after insisted on a party! a birthday party… for Lana the fish! It was lovely! we sat at the craft table… sang to her… opened presents… took pictures… made her feel like the most special fish ever! 
a nice day on the farm out east… we heard there were little fresh picked blueberries for sale at the farm… so off we went… our little Cecilia is quite the blueberry girl!  

 Isabelle had a little friend over after school… it was so much fun! we colored! had tea parties! giggled! it was sweet to just pretend I was busy with things and just listened in on them… adorable! 
my pal since we were 5 just had her newest little bundle in the spring! It was so so exciting! 3rd little boy for them and gosh is he ever a sweetie! meet Ryder!!!

these little braids are growing… I remember the day I could finally put little piggy tails in our girl’s hair and now they have braids… long braids… 
these little girls are growing and so is my heart… our oldest is finishing 1st grade and reading books!
they still are little… and we will let them be as long as they want to… 

we are looking forward to summer… trying to slow down is our main plan… enjoy this fun little life…

our oldest is doing many things like myself… it feels like I was little just a bit ago… I remember the things I would say… the dreams I would dream… and I am often finding her dreaming and thinking the same… it’s quite funny how that happens.
I was a pretty happy kid and still am :-)… but as I watch her grow more and more… gosh, finishing 1st grade oh my!… I see a lot of myself in her… and that makes me so happy.
