Easter was so much fun this year! It’s so sweet to see holidays through a little toddler’s eyes again! All the wonder and love is just contagious and makes for a blast all over again! Everything to him is a party… so we just can’t help but feel the happiness too! This year having a puppy was something new too! Saige loved sneaking some jelly beans that brother would drop… ugh… she loved getting treats for wearing her bunny ears as well. It was just a nice day being together and relaxing… Happy Easter!

Christmas was pretty sweet this year… seems like just yesterday we were writing letters to Santa and cooking Christmas food… It was Julien’s 1st Christmas which is always just magical… I know he’s little and doesn’t really understand but I know that he feels the magic… and gosh it’s so cute how his big sisters make sure that he knows what Christmas is… I loved listening to them explain the Elf to Julien as well as helping him tell Santa Claus what he was wishing for…
Our house is under construction and yes, we are living in it… so it was a little bit crazy but it was still beautiful and there was so much Christmas magic in our little home… I made cozy little corners and hung Christmas pines as well as twinkle lights wherever I could… it did the trick…

I just love our yearly tradition of hitting the calm Smokey Mountains in the winter! After the hustle and bustle of the season it’s nice to have this little carrot in the back of our mind… We totally unwind and disconnect from anything that is weighing on our shoulders! It’s fantastic for our family and our hearts!

my God… I love this guy!!! Playing charades is always hilarious! We get so in to it! 


well with the warm winter… this patch of snow will have to do! We had a ball!

 We saw this old barn and we just had to stop over and check it out! Got a couple bump pics too! so fun!

so nice with a hike in the nature! We felt totally recharged and ready for this year! This was our last vacation as a family of FOUR!!! Soon there will be Five of us and we cannot wait! It was so sweet how the girls kept saying… oh next time we have to take our brother her and teach him to do this and that! My hearts!

I think that this image for me is my most favorite sight of the year!!! When the girls first see a glimpse of their Christmas tree! That awe… it’s fantastic! This year Isabelle tip toed super fast to the tree before any of us had our eyes opened… so I listed to her… I heard the gasp! Then the tip toe on back super fast… then… “Mamma… oh my gosh, we must have been REALLY good this year!!! There are more presents than last year!!!”
Ahhh that’s Christmas… flutters in their hearts…

Christmas at our home is all about the children… all about making memories for years to come… traditions, food, and lots of love! This year was a special Christmas because Farmor & Farfar were over from Sweden to help celebrate! That was something really wonderful that the girls will always treasure for sure! The girls spent a lot of nice time doing fun traditions with their grandparents which was nice to see… 
I just love the magic of Christmas and how I can see it makes our girl’s hearts skip a beat with excitement!!! I’m so excited that soon we’ll have another little one! We can teach him our family traditions all over again…

Gosh there is something just so magical about Christmas! I love it so! It’s probably all of the childhood memories from when we were kids that keep things sparkly! My husband loves Christmas so much too and we just turn into ridiculous adults with Santa hats and stripey pajamas belting out tunes of White Christmas and trying to squeeze out any last ounce of festive we can before December 24th! It’s exhausting but it’s worth it! The kids are worth it! Their jitters are worth it! The magic is always worth it!… and we love it!

I just love love love this special tradition that our family does each year… it really helps to tie Mattias’ Swedish roots at the holiday season! St. Lucia Day!!! It’s so beautiful! All the candles and the white long dresses oh it’s just perfect! Isabelle got to hold a REAL candle this year!!! -you know now that she’s 10! She was thrilled! It’s such a simple celebration… celebrating light in the dark winter… 
We make Swedish saffron buns that are oh so yummy and drink glogg and each ginger thins! This year the girls got to wake their grandparents visiting from Sweden dressed like Lucia! It was so special and a morning I think we’ll all remember!

I’m pretty sure that Easter is my favorite holiday… I think I love it the most because there’s not a lot of pressure… I mean don’t get me wrong… I go back and forth… Christmas, Easter, Christmas…
Easter is fresh, new, light! I love the hyacinths at the grocery store that I have to stop to smell… which is sweeter, purple, or pink… always purple… 😉 I love the little chocolate bunny displays and the egg dying kits… glitter eggs, or tye dye… we always go traditional rainbow of course… but one day, glitter! I love how the weather feels in the spring… it reminds me of when I was pregnant for Isabelle, she was born March 3rd on the prettiest day with the prettiest sky with a gardenia flower on my night stand…
I love how around Easter all of our geraniums explode… pinks, reds, and purple! The garden is visited all day long by giant swallowtail butterflies… It’s like the whole garden knows the bunny is coming soon.. get ready!

With every holiday comes tradition… things have to be just so each year… I love how my love of tradition is wearing off on my girls… carrots for the bunny with a little note of course…. hidden baskets… chocolate eggs, fresh croissants for breakfast… it’s all beautiful and a sweet memory…

New traditions are always fun too and always open! This year a little kitty joined our family… The bunny even visited her and left her some treats…

We also got to celebrate my mother’s birthday! lots of fun! a pretty cake! Cousins hunting eggs! Just a beautiful day if you ask me…

the magic and wonder of Tomten coming for Christmas Eve just about floors the girls every year… It’s so sweet and exciting and we all are dancing around the house and squealing to see if it really is him! 

also on Christmas Eve is when the girls get to finally touch Fizbee our Elf on the Shelf! They place him by Santa’s milk and cookies and Santa Claus takes him back to the North Pole! 
These traditions to me are what Christmas is and I love it so!
