This Easter was full of giggles, eggs, chocolates, family, and even some friends…. what a beautiful day!
My inlaws have never been here for Easter so it was a little bit extra special for that particular reason and especially for the sweet kids which have the most fun of all…. this is what having kids is so all about! I remember waking so early when I was a kid and sneaking downstairs with my brother so excited to already see hidden colorful eggs that the Easter bunny hid…..
I remembered it all over again…. as our oldest girl was still snoozing…. and I noticed that the Easter bunny had come… so I had to wake her up FINALLY…. I crept into their room and sat by their sides…. the breeze of the morning was rustling their curtains… our home was so quiet and peaceful with the gorgeous smell of coffee and orange blossoms breezing on in…. I knew as I watched them sleeping that this was the calm peace before excited Easter came in….. I put my hand on our oldest girl’s back… and whispered, “Isabelle, it’s Easter… the bunny has come!” she took a breath… sighed, and whispered back… “well I guess I have to get up then!” hahahah I love it! From that quiet beautiful moment opened a day of fun and happiness that holidays and celebrations seem to always bring to this happy heart of mine……
while baby Cecilia was napping after the egg hunt… Isabelle and I spend some time coloring fun little paper dollies… lots of sparkles, and glitter, and paint …
then there was a loud THUD…. a poor little birdie flew into our window… so startled it just lay limp for a bit…. we took charge as a family and helped the poor baby… We got him a dish of water, a stick to perch on… and Isabelle even gave him a little flower… it was beautiful in so many ways and after he felt better again he flew away…. “to be with his Mamma & Pappa for Easter.”

all of our holidays and celebrations are always a nice combination of my traditions as well as Pappa’s heritage from Sweden…. here is a nice example of an Easter food… Herring… so delicious!!!!!!
the whole family together enjoying each other… we even invited our great friends The Burroughs to spend Easter with us! a treat!
a fun Swedish style dessert meant to look like an egg… (new birth)… so it’s a roll torte on it’s side with whipping cream on top and a half peach on top as the yolk… a fresh yet pretty dessert!
and lastly Hej Då to Farmor & Farfar…. they have gone back to Sweden… we had a lovely time with them and made so many memories as well as a nice bond which gets stronger and stronger even though that ocean is so big… we feel very close as do our little girls…..
(the girls painted these clogs for Farmor to surprise her on arrival… cute huh!)
