When we arrived in Brevard, North Carolina… I was taken back by so much beauty! I love a cool free spirit town with mountains in the distance! The homes were adorable… decked out with American flags for Memorial Day weekend… I felt like I was in a Norman Rockwell painting… I felt like I was back a few decades!
Kids were aloud to take their scooters in to town… ALONE! Kids our kid’s age… yes! This was a sweet town for me!
So many people appreciating nature… wearing hiking sandals that were still wet from their morning river hike… pants with pockets for things like maps, canteens, and a luna granola bar.
I kept thinking how happy I was that my dear friend asked us to come up to this sweet town!
There was the coolest music festival going on..
White Squirrel Music Festival
Where we MET Jill Andrews who we have not stopped listening to!
Love Love
LOVE LOVE LOVE
She’s amazing! She crouched down low for a sweet hug to our oldest who was pretty much star struck… as was I maybe a little bit.
It was amazing just to hike all day and come and relax with our friends at the music festival… we set up chairs, blankets, and our hearts under the stars amongst all the other music lovers in this sweet town and fell in love with so many passionate musicians!
Our kids danced and swayed in their bare feet hugging one another and so many times my sweet girlfriend and I would connect with our heavy hearts and love that our children are aloud too, to be free.
To be barefoot, to scrape their knees, to not have brushed their hair for a day or so… but most importantly to be children with their families listening to music.
