one of my favorite things to do in Ystad, Sweden is get lost in the heart of the town… The character and charm of Ystad is in my heart and every time I am in this sweet town I feel happy. The homes wind every which way and the roses line the sidewalks like little trails of pinks and red… I trip over the cobblestones because I’m too busy looking up and seeing the details like angel faces below one’s window…
I love the little cafes that fill the town with delicious smells of fresh baked bread… one of my favorite places is the English Book Cafe… Hos Morten Cafe! We used to live just down the street from this unique spot and I used to love to peek in the little windows to see what they were doing… in the summer it’s so nice to sit in the little hidden terrace and let the sun bake you as you wait for your amazing herring salad! The hum drum of people talking, laughing and just relaxing is so nice…
oh my gosh this Matjes Sill sandwich salad is what you should get if you ever come!!! The tang of the herring makes your cheeks pucker up! the dill is so summer to me! I was so happy and satisfied with this one!
This home above is my favorite home in Ystad! I would walk past this adorable dollhouse every day when we lived here! It’s still the same look and color as it was 15 years ago! same roses! Why mess with perfection right…?
