this is where we are…

I thought it may be nice to do a little glimpse of how we are living for these beautifully relaxing 5 weeks here in Sweden….

We are staying with Mattias’ family (mom & stepdad) in their home… it’s a charming old home in the wonderful village called Ystad… The home has good bones which creek and crack as you walk… little nooks are explored by our wee ones… it’s really beautiful!

this is our room… it’s so nice and airy and cozy… the bed is so soft and I almost fall asleep instantly as my head hits the pillow…the little white bed is so sweet… an old bed which Pappa slept in when he was small and I think Farmor did too… now both of our girls have slept cozy in this very same bed. when we go to sleep we have to remember to close the dark shade as in the summertime in Sweden there is not too much darkness… the sun is up oh so early…

the view from upstairs to the garden is a nice way to wake for sure… the birds wake us up every morning… tweet tweet… then we wake, make some coffee and wait for the creek creek of the girls beginning to wake… then we all gather in the front garden for breakfast… but lately since it’s been very hot we have been in the back garden where there is morning shade…

then my very typical Swedish style breakfast… little sandwiches… cheeses… peppers… arugula… shrimp cheese… always though cheese with veggies on top maybe even marmalade or ham… some yogurt maybe and a little fruit.. breakfast is a big deal around here… and like every meal it is together gathered at the table and eaten for quite awhile and never hurried…

Farmor doing something pretty with Isabelle’s hair… I love sneekie pics like this one… always a nice way to capture a nice moment…

Isabelle chopping the fresh herbs for our dinner cold sauce… yum!

so this is a little glimpse of our family vacation as we know it… it has been a wonderful first week… I wake naturally now… never tired… and take a few rests throughout the days… and keep the girls busy and keep trying to burn their energy… a constant chore for sure…
