for spingbreak we took a little road trip with our dear friends out to the countryside for a little camping fun…
even though the first night we got rained out… we didn’t give up… we stood strong and headed back for more!
Do things ever happen to you when at the moment… seem frustrating… but you know you can get through it… you know this will be a funny story to laugh about in 3 years… heck 20!
so on our way we blew bubbles out the windows… love me some soapy glasses and elbows! and since my car is so clean love me some soapy elbows with sand grit!
we found it! our campsite! our little slice of paradise in 4-wheeler land… our place to call home for a bit… to drink wine for awhile… to have a campfire with gooey smores! This was where we were going to make it happen!
for the record I would like you all to know… this is my little girl… “the monkey bar queen!” she can swing from bar to bar backwards, forwards, eyes closed, legs twisted, rain or shine, bad ass monkey girl! and I’m so darn proud of her!
I love these kids… even though we’re not blood family… I feel that we are… and I know they do too…
the muck… the wispy grass… the caked in dirt in the ears… the hello kitty bikini that was greyish pink afterward… got it out though… hello!
first thought a big grizzly bear… but not to worry… just black cows…
just wait…
that’s the one… that’s what I live for… that’s the light that makes me crazy happy! When it filters through trees… and then hits my little girls locks of wispy unbrushed hair… that’s the light that will make me never ever ever put my camera down… I don’t ever want to forget this face…
it’s only normal to have a perfectly beautiful camping tablescape… my friend thought of everything!
jar glasses of wine made the day easy…
kids being kids… catching bugs in their pajamas… could it get any better…?
breakfast…
just letting go and getting mucky in nature… not showering for a day or so… washing dishes in the creek… letting go…
letting yourself and your children be kids… it’s fantastic!
